I am happy it is over as all the extra effort you need to put into the training for it pretty much consumes your life. I love to exercise but I wouldn't classify myself as a runner. Early morning 5am runs and then back for a cylce class to increase fitness or pump class to strengthen legs takes its toll. I was always tired as I am now just recovering from it and needless to say grumpy. At least I know I'm fit! I was asked yesterday whether I walked part of the way. I didn't, like the other 99% of the other participants you train to run it. I don't think people enter a half marathon or marathon to walk. You test yourself, tt's a goal. As you look around you at the start line and running along the course you notice that everyone is fit and has been training for this. Just by running you and everyone else encourages each other to keep running, even if it is a slow crawl. (In all seriousness if I stopped to walk I don't know if I could have started up again) One foot in front of the other. It is hard, but fun.
