A good friend organised a morning tea last Friday with some mum's at the kindy her children attend and asked me to bring some jewellery around. We had a fun morning with lots of chatting and laughter. My friend said she is sacking me from the sales side of SoniaM (I always said I wasn't very good at it) as there were two pieces I didn't really want to let go of.
One is the wine feather cape. I just love my feather capes. Each one is individual and and I just love to display them more than anything, like pieces of artwork.
And the other piece was the smoky quartz and torquoise ring below. When a lovely lady wanted to buy it, I ummed and ahhhed and was completely unprepared for it. My friend had to yank it off my finger. I know, I know, why did I have it out there in the first place. Truth be told I always have them out as decoration pieces as they are beautiful little flowers. Many people look at them but not buy because they say they're too big or too out there, which is just fine with me.
I designed the sterling silver pieces that the rings are threaded and backed onto a few years ago. I only had 10 moulds made up as they are quite expensive to make and only made the 3 three rings at the time as they are also time consuming to make. You might be able to see them on the table, a carnelian, aventurine and smoky quartz. The lady bought the smoky quartz with the torquoise centre. So now I am one short and have to make another. This time I was thinking Amethyst. Will keep you posted.
