The Hidden Beauty of Shoes

I wanted to share this with you as I found it very interesting and thought you might too.

When I was in Noosa on the weekend I managed to get literally 5 minutes of browsing in the 2 boutiques below The French Quarter. However all was not lost. When I was in the boutique called "Don't Tell Mama" and the lovely sales assistant couldn't tell me how the name came about, she started talking about shoes. More importantly about how shoe shopping is the best form of shopping. She goes on to explain that there's just no drama in trying on shoes. They either fit or they don't. They don't make us feel bad about ourselves if they don't fit. It doesn't depress us (I know, I know, unless they are absolutely fabulous at an even more absolutely fabulous price then yes it can be depressing) because of any of our perceived shortcomings.

I know I don't give it a second thought except to say it just wasn't meant to be. It's a different story when clothes shopping...

The above shoes are Christian Dior SS11. John Galliano may be crazy but he sure does know how to create AMAZING shoes!

A Love Affair with Animal Print

I was reading one of my favourite blogs Ada and Darcy about animal prints. Kellie from Ada and Darcy was saying how she can't quite take the plunge into buying any animal print as it would just be a passing phase for her.

Now I on the other hand absolutely love an animal print. So when I saw these fabulous shoes above, how could I resist?

In fact I can never understand when fashion magazines say "Get Ready the Animal print is coming back in", because for me it is always in! My wardrobe has its fair share of it.

Now the above shoes have always been a touch too big for me. When walking, the back of my foot would slip out. I eventually put full inner soles and heel party soles in but nothing seemed to work.

Desperate to wear them one night I had always noticed they had an elastic band attached to the back inside of the heel. I still don't know its real purpose but for me it was to thread ribbon through and make the shoes pumps with ankle ties.

Off I went to spotlight and bought some ribbon which is below. They did have a fluoroish pink and green in the same ribbon which I think I may have to go back for. I am currently reliving the flouro movement at the moment.
