I've been wearing these multi-strand necklaces a bit lately and everytime I wear them so many people comment. These are pretty big and relativly heavy pieces to wear and the most common comment is that they could not wear such a big piece. I was thinking of making smaller and lighter versions with all the new beads and hopefully still have the same impact.

Inspiration
I bought these brooches and a few rings which I will convert to brooches on my holidays. When I was showing my husband he said to me that I'm always thinking SoniaM stuff. I looked at him pretty astonished and said that it's not a switch I can turn on or off. Inspiration comes at anytime, anywhere and can be completely unrelated to what you are doing at the time. I may not use these brooches for a while or I might use them in my new range. We'll see.

Inspiration Thursday - Whites and Creams
What can I say feathers, shells and beaded things!
I have had this picture for a long time like many years. I am seeing it used in a few magazines of late.

Inspiration in Unlikely places
The above is a quote by Illustrator Beci Orpin in an interview in the Inside Out Magazine Sept/Oct 2010 issue.
I would like to add to this and say we need to keep our eyes AND minds open.
Inspiration tends to come from unlikely sources at unexpected times. I truly believe your mind has to be open to interpretation of what your eyes see and the thoughts that stem from that.

Inspiration in a JC Penny Advertisment
I was recently flipping through pages of the APRIL edition of the US In Style magazine and came across an add for JC Penny. The torquoise coloured crochet bib on the front of the dress caught my eye. This, with the Michael Stars singlet I recently bought, got me thinking about making necklaces out of the bibs.
So when my friend came round for coffee yesterday and we were talking about crafty things it got me thinking about my necklace idea. She mentioned that she was looking for the small round crochet circles to do the gorgeous singlets and maybe some hairclips and hairbands for a little girls range. She said she had sourced her crochet bits on ebay. I had a look but no good for me.
So when she left I researched all my suppliers, local, nationally and internationally, to see if they had anything. They did not. However I did manage to find a supplier. I have placed an order so will hopefully receive in the next week or two and will have a fiddle. Will let you know.
